New Delhi:

As per expectation, Hero presents heroic action, expected storyline and some crunchy punch lines with added new tadkas Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty.

Be it promotions or launch of new Bollywood faces, Salman Khan has been througly involved in the process. Even with no acts, Salman drives his charisma with the film.

Like Salman in Dabangg, Sooraj makes an entry filled with quake, kicks and smashes to build the heroic avatar. With lean muscular body he is capable enough to make girls go gaga over him. Being a debutant, comparing him to Salman acts won't be justified; but with more experience he is likely to emerge as one of the finest actors of the industry.

Athiya Shetty's act of being daddy's princess needs a lot of improvement both in terms of writing and performance. At certain times she gives a feeling, we had received after watching Sonam Kapoor in movie Aisha.

Sticking to the base story of Jackie Shroff’s 1983 movie with the same name, it delivers old dish in new plate with added spices.

In keeping up with the old story, Radha (Athiya Shetty), daughter of IG Srikant Mathur (Tigmanshu Dhulia), is kidnapped by Sooraj (Pancholi) on the behest to safeguard his baba, Pasha (Aditya Pancholi), whose court hearing is due for two weeks.

Amid kidnapping, Athiya falls in love with Sooraj and wants him to Alt+Ctrl+Delete (restart) his life as a good man.

What comes next is an expected drama with complete Bollywood packaging to make sure Radha and Sooraj goes for a fairytale wedding dream.

A pinch of dialogues, few flying kicks and dramatic scenes blend the new avatar of Salman’s favorite movie Hero.

On screen pairing of Sooraj and Athiya seems perfunctory. They both deliver an act which is above average but still need much of efforts to ensure people don’t get a feeling that they are acting and not performing.

Vivan Bhatena, as the antagonist Prince Rannvijay Shekhawat, makes his presence much more charming than Sooraj’s way too long lead character. Vivan’s character is well defined and executed with flawless expressions.

First problem comes out with direction, which is careless and executed with less dedication. Second comes with poor writing. With not much of detailing about characters, the screenplay remains confusing at certain times.

Final Verdict: Hero is a film which is below average but lead pairs dedication and their on-screen chemistry is the only thing which might amuse audiences.
