In the new finger touch technology, the driver will have to place his/her finger on the sensor panel located on the door handle where the encrypted fingerprint will get identified and open the door. Once the registered user gets access to enter the car, the environment also changes as per the matching fingerprint information including seating position, side-view mirrors and other connected features. Hyundai further plans to integrate temperature control and steering preferences to it as well.

On the inside, the driver can also start the engine of the car by placing the registered finger on the panel.

The company even claims that the new feature will have an error rate of 1 in 50,000, which is equal to Apple’s touch technology. Moreover, through real-time learning of fingerprints supported by ‘dynamic update’ system, the system can continually improve its success rate.
