Facebook live streaming: Now go live from desktop and laptop

New Delhi:

Exciting news for social media enthusiasts as Facebook live streaming video will now be available on desktop and laptop computers.

Since 2016 Facebook Live has been available on mobile devices, now the social media giant makes Facebook live available on desktop to counter competition from streaming platforms such as Twitch and YouTube.

Users are able to set up their livestream to broadcast on-screen images or video game footage, in addition to their faces, thanks to the service’s picture-in-picture broadcast support.

Adding support for desktop video streaming also allows the service to cater for vlogs or video tutorials, which require a stable camera set-up.

To start broadcasting on Facebook Live, select “Live Video” from the top of your News Feed or Timeline, then follow the prompts to choose your audience and add a description.

The Live Video option is available alongside Check in, Activities, and others on the top of the NewsFeed/ Timeline. Starting a live video is as easy as posting a Status, and it shows up the same way it did when you posted through your phone.
