Popstar Miley Cyrus has been sued for USD 300 million by Jamaican artist Flourgon for allegedly stealing lyrics to her 2013 hit song 'We Can't Stop.'
The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday in New York federal court and claims that a few lines of Cyrus's megahit 'We Can't Stop' were re-created and bear similarities with Flourgon's 1988 reggae track 'We Run Things'.
The legal action, seeking USD 300 million for unspecified damages also includes names of RCA Records, a Sony label, and the 'We Can't Stop' producer Mike WiLL Made-It.
'We Can't Stop' became an international multiplatinum hit and gave Cyrus an official pop star title. The song ranked number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

However, Sony Music and Cyrus's representatives are yet to respond to requests for comment.
Flourgon's real name is Michael May and the Caribbean songwriter performs under the pseudonym.
