A group of doctors in the valley has come with an initiative ‘’Dial a Doctor’ where consultations are being given on the phone. Patients across the valley and outside can directly call on this service and avail consultations without visiting the hospitals. This service is completely free and there are now 300 doctors associated with this initiative. These doctors are from different specialties and provide services/consultations round the clock. Dr Waqar Ahmad says that the concept of the service is to help patients from their homes. When we receive a call from a patient, first we try to diagnose the issue and then we put the caller to the doctor who specializes the stream. Doctor gives the patient an e-prescription. And we take the tests on whatsapp. If we think the patients need hospital admission then we advise them.‘’
