New Delhi:
The Gorkha Janamukti Morcha's (GJM) central committee on Monday suspended party chief Bimal Gurung for six months and appointed GJM chief coordinator Binay Tamang as the new president, ANI reported.
The central committee took the decision in a meeting held in Darjeeling's Ghum area.
Apart from Gurung, 13 other leaders of the party, including general secretary Roshan Giri and women wing president Asha Gurung, were also suspended by the committee.
The central committee cited that Bimal Gurung and Roshan Giri are no more the frontrunners in the ongoing Gorkhaland movement. Gurung has been absconded for nearly six months since the West Bengal Police issued a look-out notice against him.
14 leaders, including President Bimal Gurung, Roshan Giri and Asha Gurung suspended from Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) for 6 months. Binoy Tamang appointed new President by party's central committee.
