New Delhi:
An Indian Air Force (IAF) Mig-29 fighter jet crashed between Amran and Jivapar villages near Jamnagar in Gujarat on Friday.
No casualty has been reported and the pilot ejected safely as the reasons for the crash is unknown.
The jet plane was on a routine sortie from the Jamnagar IAF airbase when the accident took place at 11:29 am.
A court of inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of the accident.
MIG aircraft has poor safety records and it has been given the tags like "Flying Coffin" and the "Widow Maker."
More than 170 Indian Air Force pilots were killed in MIG accidents since 1970 and about 40 civilians also died in these accidents.
