As the COVID19 Pandemic has left thousands of youth jobless across the nation, a 25-year-old Srinagar girl Isra Ishad is setting an example for all those youngsters who have lost hope. A B-Tech in Food and Technology, Isra has started a new venture online with the name ‘Wrap a Wrap’. Isra has gained a lot of popularity on social networks for her packing skills. Isra is involved in Trousseau packing, customized baskets packing, gift packaging, wedding favors and gift hampers.
'Wrap a Wrap' has so far successfully delivered a lot of projects for marriages, birthdays and other functions. And with Diwali round the corner, she has made her presence across the nation with her orders. “I am a B Tech and there were no jobs, so one day I did wrapping at my cousin's wedding and everyone loved it. After that I thought I should do it professionally as well. I got a great response from across the country as we all outside India. People who used to come to buy stuff now cant due to covid and they are ordering stuff from here.’ Says Isra.
Isra began working with an insurance company as she always had a knack for marketing. However, she lost her job during COVID pandemic, and resultantely, came up with an idea of setting up a small start up for gift wrapping. She thinks there are ample opportunities for the youth of Kashmir; they just need to explore them. “I have chosen this as my career and trying to expand this. I have at the moment provided job to one person but as my orders will increase, I will give opportunity to many others’’ Says Isra.
