New Delhi:

The brother of Nirbhaya, victim of the brutal 2012 gang-rape and murder is now a pilot with all thanks to Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi.

According to Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi, Rahul Gandhi counseled her son Aman (changed name) to achieve something in life.

Rahul Gandhi was the one who counselled him and motivated him to achieve something good in life to support the family. After learning that he wanted to join the defence forces, Rahul asked him to pursue a pilot's training course after completion of school," Asha Devi told Mail Today.

Aman was in trauma after the brutal incident of rape and murder of his physiotherapist sister. And it was the Congress VP who helped him get out the stress.

Thanking the Congress VP for his support, Asha Devi said, “Rahul Gandhi sponsored Aman’s higher education. Apart from that his regular phone calls to Aman motivated him to achieve his goals in life.”

"When he was studying in Rae Bareli, Rahul used to talk to him over the phone and taught him to adopt a 'never quit' attitude." she added.

On December 16, 2012, six men, including the 17-year-old juvenile, gang-raped a 23-year-old medical student in a moving bus casuing internal injuries. The girl, who was later named Nirbhaya (The one who is not scared of anything) succumbed to injuries in a Singapore hospital.

The case shook the conscience of entire nation and stirred the country's hatred towards heinous crimes against women.
