While people all over India were busy spending some gala time with friends and family on this festival of lights, a European Space Agency astronaut dropped a glittering picture of Indian subcontinent taken from space on this Diwali.

According to reports, Paolo Nespoli, the European astronaut took to micro-blogging site Twitter on this auspicious occasion of Diwali and posted the much illuminated and beautiful picture of a brighter India.

Quite interestingly, Paolo did not mention the day it was captured. He left it to users to decide whether it is a real picture of India from space on Diwali or a mere trap to make people fool yet again.

After creating a lot of buzz regarding the same on social networking sites, the air has recently been cleared.

Yes! Latest media reports suggest that the picture taken and uploaded on the Nespoli's Flickr account was actually clicked on September 29, 20 days before Diwali. The bright orange line of light running across the picture is happened to be the Pakistan-India international border, reported on NASA’s website.

While some of the Twitter users were very much quick to point out the truth, another group of users were amazed by the beauty of mother India and owe Nespoli big thanks and a debt of gratitude for the same.

Nespoli's tweet has already received 4.5K retweets and was liked nearly 7.5K times when last checked.
