Microsoft on Tuesday made several announcements at its Windows 10 Devices event. We have already talked about Lumia 950 and 950XL smartphones in ananother article but let us take a look at other items launched at the mega event.

Surface Pro 4

The successor of Surface Pro 3 is thinner, lighter and faster. Also it is available at a price of $899 (approx Rs 58,700) in US from October 26 with pre-orders starting from today.

The company has claimed that it is 30 percent faster than the Surface Pro 3 and around 50 percent faster than the Apple MacBook.

New fitness tracker, Band 2

The new band allows users to monitor their fitness and exercise regime and will be priced at $249 when it becomes available on October 30.

The fitness tracker has a curved display and is protected by Corning Gorilla glass with a barometer sensor to track elevation.

With the help of this you can reschedule missed workouts and can monitor continuous optical heart rate; also onboard GPS and tracker will help you calculate calories burned, deep exercise and sleep quality. Two-day battery life is an advantage in addition.

Lumia phones

Microsoft on Tuesday unveiled the long-rumoured Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL at its "Windows 10 devices briefing" event.

The handsets will run on Windows 10 Mobile, the mobile edition of the company's latest operating system.

Company also announced that Lumia 550, which is due in December will be priced at $139, however did not detail the specifications.

Lumia 950

  • It will be priced at $549 and will be available in November
  • Lumia 950 sports a 5.2-inch QHD display with a pixel density of 564ppi
  • It is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC, and 32GB of internal storage.
  • 20-megapixel rear camera with 4K video recording and OIS, apart from a 5-megapixel sensor placed upfront
  • The rear camera module features a triple-LED RGB flash module, and the phones feature dedicated camera buttons.
  • Handset will run on the new operating system, Windows 10 Mobile.
  • It is also liquid cooled to prevent it from heating up
  • USB Type-C port, that can charge 50 percent of your battery in just 30 minutes.
  • Features adaptive antenna technology
  • Software features: Windows Hello biometric system that unlocks the device by just looking at your face.

Lumia 950 XL

  • It will start at $649 and will also be available in November
  • It sports a 5.7-inch QHD display with a pixel density of 518ppi
  • It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC and comes with 32GB of internal storage
  • 20-megapixel rear camera with 4K video recording and OIS, apart from a 5-megapixel sensor placed upfront
  • The rear camera module features a triple-LED RGB flash module, and the phones feature dedicated camera buttons.
  • Handset will run on the new operating system, Windows 10 Mobile.
  • It is also liquid cooled to prevent it from heating up
  • USB Type-C port, that can charge 50 percent of your battery in just 30 minutes.
  • Features adaptive antenna technology
  • It works on the Windows Hello biometric system
