Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy Z TriFold, a device that shows where the future of mobile technology is headed. After more than a decade of experimenting with foldable phones, the company has now moved to a new level with a phone that unfolds twice to reveal a large 10-inch display. It still fits in your pocket, but when opened, it becomes a powerful screen made for work, creativity and entertainment.

“Samsung’s relentless pursuit of new possibilities continues to shape the future of mobile experiences,” said TM Roh, Chief Executive Officer, President, and Head of Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics. He added that Galaxy Z TriFold finally brings together “portability, premium performance and productivity all in one device.”

Designed With Real Users in Mind

Samsung says the TriFold was created after years of understanding how people use their phones. The device folds inward to protect the main display, and the hinge has been engineered so it opens and closes smoothly. It even includes an auto-alarm that warns users if the fold isn’t done correctly.

At its thinnest point, the Galaxy Z TriFold measures just 3.9 mm, yet it carries top-tier hardware. This includes a customised Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, a 200-megapixel camera and the largest battery Samsung has ever used in a foldable. The 5,600 mAh battery is split across the three panels to deliver balanced power and all-day usage, along with support for 45W super-fast charging.

To keep the device slim but durable, Samsung has redesigned the structure from the inside out. The Armor FlexHinge uses two differently sized hinges working together, while the titanium hinge housing and Advanced Armor Aluminium frame help protect the internal parts. The back panel uses a ceramic-glass fibre-reinforced polymer for better crack resistance.

Built for Productivity and AI

Once fully opened, the TriFold’s 10-inch display can function like three 6.5-inch phones side by side. This means users can run three apps at once, resize windows and multitask with ease. Samsung DeX is also available as a standalone feature for the first time on a phone, letting users create a near-desktop setup anywhere, even adding a second screen.

Galaxy AI features such as Photo Assist, Generative Edit and Browsing Assist work more naturally on the larger display. Gemini Live also offers smarter, real-time help by understanding what users see, say and do.

For Work, Play and Everything In Between

The TriFold isn’t just about productivity. Its 10-inch display is ideal for movies, videos and reading. YouTube can show videos and comments side-by-side, and the AMOLED display supports up to 120 Hz refresh rate with up to 2600 nits brightness on the cover screen.

Availability

The Galaxy Z TriFold will first launch in Korea on December 12, 2025, followed by markets such as China, Taiwan, Singapore, the UAE and the U.S. It will also be available for hands-on demos at select retail stores in each region.
