Washington:
Microsoft’s India-born CEO Satya Nadella, Pepsi’s Indra Nooyi and top American business tycoon Warren Buffet are among 30 top CEOs who attended business dialogue with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Seattle during his maiden state visit to the US beginning next week.
The 30 CEOs of some of China’s and America’s biggest firms including Apple CEO Tim Cook and Alibaba founder Jack Ma will attend the heavyweight business dialogue on September 23 in Seattle, the first stop of Xi’s visit between September 22 to September 25, official media reported.
Xi will be present at a roundtable hosted by former US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson.
The attendees include 15 CEOs from China and 15 from the US, state-run People’s Daily reported today.
The dialogue will provide opportunity to the Sino-US business leaders to discuss issues facing the two countries, challenges and opportunities, and to explore ways to strengthen bilateral economic and trade relations, it said.
Xi, who will travel to the US on his maiden state visit after he took over in 2013, will hold talks with President Barack Obama in Washington on critical issues bedevilling the world’s two largest economies.
Issues like China’s aggressive approach in the South China Sea and cyber attacks especially on US firms are expected to dominate the talks.
Xi will later travel to New York to attend the UN General Assembly session.
