After Being Discontinued In The Year 2002, Toyota On Monday Has Finally Unveiled 2020 Supra At The Detroit Auto Show Which Will Be Making Its Comeback After A Long Span Off 18 Years For A Price Range Of USD 50,000.
After being discontinued in the year 2002, Toyota on Monday has finally unveiled 2020 Supra at the Detroit Auto show which will be making its comeback after a long span off 18 years for a price range of USD 50,000. The design of the all-new Toyota Supra is inspired by Calty's FT-1 Concept and is developed by Toyota GAZOO Racing. The new Toyota Supra will be offered in two variants, the 3.0 and the 3.0 Premium. The sports car Toyota Supra was first launched in the year 1978 was named as Toyota Celica Supra and the upcoming model of the popular sports car will be its fifth generation.
Stephanie Brinley, the lead automotive analyst for researcher IHS Markit said, “Certainly, there are still vehicles that prioritize fun driving—I don’t think that’s going away. But customers have shifted, and they prefer utility vehicles, and that’s what’s selling,” she says. “The auto show in Detroit reflects that’’.

The new Supra comes with a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder twin-scroll turbo-charged engine which can produce 3335 bhp of power and 495 Nm of torque. The engine will be mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission which can achieve a speed of 0-100 in just 4.1 seconds. The sports car has a top speed of 250 kmph.
The Toyota Supra will also sport two driving modes, Normal and Sport where the Sport mode will minimise the electronic intervention from ABS and traction control along with sharpening of the throttle response.
The new Supra has a perfect 50:50 weight distribution and also comes with a double bubble roof design for slick aerodynamics. It also comes with modern features including LED headlights, auto-dimming mirrors, rearview cameras and rain-sensing wipers.
Talking about its interior, the new Toyota Supra will sport a 6.5-inch or 8-inch touchscreen (as per the model) which can be controlled by a rotary knob beside the gear shifter along with automatic climate control, and optional adaptive cruise control.
