CBSE Results 2017: Overall pass percentage is 90.95 per cent, dip of over 5 per cent

Pass percentage in CBSE Class 10 exam falls to 90.95 per cent from 96.21 per cent last year, registering dip of over 5 per cent.
CBSE Class 10th results 2017 was announced today by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for Delhi, Allabhad, Chennai, Dehradun and Trivandrum Region at official websites: www.cbse.nic.in
Trivandrum region has highest pass percentage at 99.85, followed by Chennai region at 99.62. Allahabad region is third with 98.23 pass percentage. Delhi's pass percentage falls by over 13 per cent, 78.09 as against last year's 91.06 per cent.
Results of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh and J-K expected to be out by 3pm, reports our Correspondent Irfah Mufti.
CBSE Board Class 10th region-wise pass percentage:
Trivandrum- 99.85Chennai- 99.62Bhubaneswar- 92.15Chandigarh- 94.34Guwahati- 65.53Delhi- 78.09Patna- 95.50Allahabad- 98.23Dehradun- 97.27Ajmer- 93.30
A total of 16,67,573 candidates had appeared for the exam this year. On May 28, the board had declared the results for class XII which had seen a dip of over one per cent in the pass percentage.
The minimum requirement for passing the CBSE class 10 examination is 33 per cent. For any inquiries regarding the result, counselling will be conducted till June 11.
Students, who are short of a mark or two to pass and are awarded grace marks, have a reason to rejoice as the board has decided not to mention it on the mark sheets.
