Assam: Cotton College State University admission 2017 to begin from June 5

The 117-year-old historic Cotton College in Guwahati which will now be known as Cotton University has announced that admission will be held online for the aspiring students of Class XI.Assam Education Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma unveiled the new identity of the institute during a renaming ceremony.The online application process for admission to Class XI will open from June 5. The last dates for submitting the forms for Science and Arts streams are June 8 and June 14, respectively. Admission for the Class XI (Science) dayshift classes will be held on June 11, and that for the evening shift on the following day. Admission for the Arts stream will be scheduled on June 17.
However the admission dates for the 3-year Degree Course (TDC) in Science and Arts will be declared soon.About Cotton College:
It was established with five professors and 39 students on the roll on May 27, 1901 as a Government-run undergraduate college. But soon, it emerged as the only centre of academic, cultural and literary renaissance and became a symbol of hope for all conscious people of then Assam, which is now divided into seven States and known as the North-East region of the country.
