Judgementall Hai Kya, Featuring Kangana Ranaut And Rajkummar Rao In Lead Roles, Hit The Screens Yesterday And Opened To Positive Reviews.
Judgementall Hai Kya, featuring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles, hit the screens yesterday and opened to positive reviews. According to early estimates, Judgementall Hai Kya's box office collection stood at around Rs 5 crore. It is less than the opening day collections of Kangana’s last film, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, which made Rs 8.75 crore on its first Friday.’
Ekta Kapoor also shared the opening day collection on Twitter. She wrote, ''Winning hearts!! India's most critically acclaimed thriller #JudgementallHaiKya Collects Rs.5.40 crore on the first day!''
The film has overshadowed Kriti Sanon and Diljit Dosanjh’s Arjun Patiala which released on the same day. However, the film is facing tough competition from Disney's Lion King which made Rs around Rs 5.25 crore on its second Friday. It has already collected over Rs 86 crore.
The film was previously titled Mental Hai Kya, but underwent a last-minute change after controversy surrounding its depiction of mental health.
When asked about Judgementall Hai Kya at an event, Rajkummar said, "It’s an amazing script as it is a very quirky and different comedy. Kangana is such a powerhouse performer and we are coming together after Queen along with Ekta Kapoor (producer) so it’s going to be a lot of fun.â€Â
Apart from Ranaut and Rao, the film also stars Jimmy Sheirgill and Amyra Dastur. The film, directed by Prakash Kovelamudi and produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms, released on July 26 with some minor changes, as suggested by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).Â
