As Ananya Panday Wins ‘Best Debut’, Old Video Of Salman Khan Lashing Out On ‘Filmfare Or Stupid Award’ Surfaces
In The Old Video That Is Going Viral, We See Salman Khan Calling Out Award Shows Saying,' I Won't Go Up And Pick Filmfare Or Any Stupid Award''.
Dissatisfied netizens and movie-buffs are calling for the boycott of Filmfare award following the recent announcements of winners at 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards 2020 on Twitter. The award gave away Ananya Panday as ‘Best Debut’, while Gully Boy took home very major award, which, for netizens wasn’t’ deserving enough in comparison to films such as Super 30 or Akshay Kumar’s Kesari. They have now made it a point to express their dissatisfaction by digging up old video of Salman Khan lashing out on ‘Filmfare and Stupid Award show’. In the old video that is going viral, we see Bhai calling out the awards saying,
"I think the people who don't have confidence in themselves want awards. I won't go up and pick Filmfare or any stupid award. National Award mile toh that's prestigious. That I'll go and pick."
"Magazine that is running on our strength. Ke aapke interview pe aur stars ke interview pe jo magazine chal rahi hai wohi aapko bulate hai aur bolte hai ki they're going to give you an award. You come and perform. Then they send it to Pan Parag and Manikchand and we are like idiots.. suit-boot pehen ke baithe hai aur award le rahe hai. It is like tomorrow my driver, spotboy and my make-up man will say that baba aaj hum aapko award dete hai. That's stupid’’ Salman Khan added.
The Filmfare Awards which was held on Sunday honoured Gully Boy as Best Film with both Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt winning Best Actor and Actress in leading categories, Best director for Zoya Akhtar. Ayushmann Khurrana won Best Actor (Critics) for Article 15) while Ananya Panday was honoured the Best Debut (Female) for Student Of The Year 2 while Abhimanyu Dassani was awarded Best Debut (Male) for Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota.
