2017 Oscar nominations for 89th Academy Awards announced; 'La La Land' dances away with 14 nominations
The Nominations For The 89th Academy Awards Were Announced On Tuesday In Los Angeles With ‘La La Land’ Dancing Away With 14 Nominations. The Romantic Musical Equalled The Record For Most Oscar Nominations Which Was Previously Held By ‘All About Eve’ And ‘Titanic’.
The nominations for the 89th Academy Awards were announced on Tuesday in Los Angeles with ‘La La Land’ dancing away with 14 nominations.The romantic musical equalled the record for most Oscar nominations which was previously held by ‘All About Eve’ and ‘Titanic’.
‘La La Land’ was nominated for best directing, best picture and best original screenplay, while the film’s leads actors Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling found a place in best actress and best actor category, respectively.
Apart from Gosling, Casey Affleck, Andrew Garfield, Viggo Mortensen and Denzel Washington were nominated for actor in a leading role.
Ruth Negga, Isabelle Huppert, Natalie Portman and Meryl Streep joined Stone for being nominated for best actress.
Best picture nominations include ‘Arrival,’ ‘Fences,’ ‘Hacksaw Ridge,’ ‘Hell or High Water,’ ‘Hidden Figures,’ ‘Lion,’ ‘Manchester by the Sea,’ and ‘Moonlight’ and ‘La La Land.’
The 89th Academy Awards will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on February 26.
