Deepika Padukone’s ‘Death By Chocolate’ compliment for Hrithik Roshan’s on his last outing War set rumour bells buzzing about an upcoming collaboration between the two gorgeous looking actors. Soon she was seen partying with the actor and posing for pictures. Seems now the news is finally here. Reports from sources close to the actors suggest The ‘Super 30’ actor is all set to play a mythological character in Deepika’s second venture as a producer, a modern day re-telling of Mahabharata.
According to a new report by Deccan Chronicle, Hrithik is being considered to take up the pivotal role of Sri Krishna, Draupadi’s close confidante and saviour. Earlier there were reports that Hrithik will take up the role of Lord Rama in Nitish Tiwari’s Ramayana, alongside Deepika as Sita. No announcement regarding the star cast has been made as of now.
During the movie announcement earlier, Deepika had confirmed she will play the role of Draupadi. "Since producer Madhu Mantena is a very close friend of Hrithik's, he is in talks with the star for the role. Playing Lord Krishna is a welcome challenge for any actor. The logistics are being worked out for Hrithik's participation," the publication quoted a source as saying. Deepika will co-produce the film with Madhu Mantena, who was previously part of Phantom Films.
Aware that three hours is too little to do justice to Draupadi's journey from her birth in Panchala to her role in the destruction of the Kauravas, the duo intends to make it a multi-part franchise, with the first edition slated to release in Diwali 2021.
