Parrikar Said That The Issue Will Be Resolved Within The Time Frame Of Two Months.
A day after the alleged suicide of ex-serviceman Ram Kishan Grewal over the implementation of 'one ran, one pension' scheme created a political furore in the Capital, defence minister Manohar Parrikar said on Thursday that problems of one lakh army veterans will be resolved within two months.
"One lakh 1 lakh army veterans are yet to get full benefit of OROP. There is some technical issue in it. We will soon sort out the paperwork," news agency ANI quoted Parrikar as saying.
Parrikar said that the issue will be resolved within the time frame of two months.
Earlier in the day, ex-serviceman Ram Kishan Grewal was on Thursday cremated in his native village in Haryana which was flocked by political leaders including Congres vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Grewal’s eldest son Dilawar lit the pyre at around noon in the presence of a large number of people who had gathered from nearby areas in Bamla, 20 kms away from Bhiwani.
Grewal's death triggered a political row on Wednesday when Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal and other opposition leaders targeted Narendra Modi government holding it responsible for the army veteran's extreme step.
