Coronavirus | Domestic Flights Services To Remain Close Till April 14: DGCA
In A Bid To Prevent The Further Spread Of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak In India, The Directorate General Of Civil Aviation (DGCA) On Friday Extended The Restrictions On The Operations Of All Domestic Flights Till April 14, 2020.
In a bid to prevent the further spread of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in India, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday extended the restrictions on the operations of all domestic flights till April 14, 2020. However, the cargo services have been exempted from the restrictions. It is to be noted that the restriction on domestic flights is a part of a 21-day lockdown announced by PM Modi.
In a tweet, ANI said, "Restrictions on domestic flights extended till April 14, 2020: Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)".

The decision comes a day after DGCA announced that all international commercial passenger services will remain close till April 14, 2020. In its notification on Thursday, DGCA said, "It has been decided that scheduled international commercial passenger services shall remain closed till 18:30 hrs (GMT) of April 14, 2020. This will not apply to approved international all-cargo operations and flights."
The death count in India has reached 18 due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus in the country. According to the latest update, more than 700 cases of coronavirus has been reported in India so far.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a complete lockdown in the country amidst rising cases of coronavirus.

Importantly, the novel coronavirus, which originated in China, has claimed thousands of lives across the world. With no known cure so far for the coronavirus, the deadly disease has become a major issue for the entire world.
