Did Nirmala Sitharaman ask Mehbooba Mufti to file FIR against Army? Asks Swamy
“You See According To Media Reports And Social Media J&K CM At The Floor Of The House Said, 'I Had Brought The Shopian Army Firing Issue To Notice Of The Defence Minister And She Said That If You Feel That A Crime Has Been Committed, Go Ahead And Take An Action.
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha Subramanian Swamy on Wednesday questioned Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s decision to lodge police FIR against the Army unit involved in the firing in Shopian that left three civilians dead.
“You see according to media reports and social media J&K CM at the floor of the House said, 'I had brought the Shopian army firing issue to notice of the Defence Minister and she said that if you feel that a crime has been committed, go ahead and take an action.
“Wondering why even today the Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has not given a clarification. Do we take her silence to mean yes? If it is, then it's totally against party policies and sentiments of Indians and patriotism. If she doesn't give a clarification by February 2 I'll ask it in the House,†said Swamy.Â
