Disappointed by board exam results, four MP students have committed suicide. Out of the four students, three were girls.
Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) results of std 10th and 12th examinations were announced on Friday.
Incidents of suicide were reported from Gwalior, Tikamgarh, Bhind and Jabalpur. One attempt to commit suicide was also reported.
Pragya Kushwah (21), a 12th std student, from Gwalior, hanged herself after the results were out.
Another girl, a std 10th student, tried to commit suicide by consuming poison. She was undergoing treatment at a hospital, Gwalior police said.
In Narguda area of Tikamgarh town, Pinki Prajapati (16), std 10th student, hanged herself told local police officer Rajesh Banjare. She did not pass the exam.
In Jabalpur, Kanchan Dubey (17), std 12th student, jumped in front of a train at Gulaua railway crossing, police officer Y S Mishra said.
Tapish Miholiya (17), std 12th student, from Bhind town, hanged himself in his house in Chaturvedi Nagar, additional superintendent of police Rajendra Verma said.
Tapish, son of Bhind Municipality president Kalawati Miholiya, had failed in std 12th.
