The number of new COVID19 cases reported in last 24 hrs dropped below 40,000, taking the total tally to 82.67 lakh, said the data released by the Union Health Ministry. The total covid19 cases has surged to 82,67,623 with 38,310 fresh Covid-19 infections and 490 new deaths.

The total active cases includes 5,41,405 after a decrease of 20,503 in last 24 hours. However, the total cured cases stand at 76,03,121 with 58,323 new discharges in the last 24 hours. According to data released by the Union Health Ministry, eighty per cent of the new COVID-19 cases are concentrated in 10 States and Union Territories.
The states like Kerala (7,025), Delhi (5,664), Maharashtra (5,369) and West Bengal (3,987) have reported the highest numbers in the past 24 hours.
