An Indian Army Jawan Was Killed And Three Others Have Suffered Bullet Injuries In A Fierce Gunbattle Between The Terrorists And Joint Security Forces In Gujarpati Jammu And Kashimir’s Kupwara District.
An Indian Army jawan was killed and three others have suffered bullet injuries in a fierce gunbattle between the terrorists and joint security forces in Gujarpati Jammu and Kashimir’s Kupwara district.
A search operation was launched in forest areas in Kupwara after intelligence inputs alerted presence of militants in the encounter site.
A senior police officer of Jammu and Kashmir police confirmed the death of an Indian Army jawan in the encounter.
He further added that three other jawans have suffered bullet injuries in the incident.
Another Jammu and Kashmir police officer said, “The encounter between the joint security forces and militants started around 3 pm.”
Earlier in the day, the security forces had gunned down three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists in North Kashmir's Magam area of Handwara region of Kupwara District of Jammu and Kashmir.
