The Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested a special police officer in charges of raping and brutally murdering a 8-year-old nomad girl on Saturday from Kathua, around 80 kilometers from Kashmir.
The arrest has been identified as Deepak Khujaria, 28. He is posted as a special police officer at Hera Nagar police station.

The ADGP added that Khajuria had accepted his crime. "We have lodged an FIR under relevant IPC sections and POSCO Act," added Puri.
The girl was kidnapped, raped and brutally murdered last month. Her mutilated body was recovered on January 17. The victim’s family had lodged a complaint with the police and were regularly staging protests for her perpetrators arrest.
The Police also said, Khujaria used to move with the investigating team though he was not part of the investigation.
