Jammu and Kashmir: Two CRPF jawans killed following attacks from stone-pelters
The CRPF Troops Were Going Back To Their Camp After A Day-long Law And Order Duty In Kokernag’s Hiller Area, When The Attack Took Place In Anantnag Area, Around 85 Kilometres Away From Srinagar.
Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans on Wednesday were run over by a para-military force vehicle after being attacked by stone-pelters in South Kashmir’s Kokernag.
The CRPF troops were going back to their camp after a day-long law and order duty in Kokernag’s Hiller area, when the attack took place in Anantnag, around 85 kilometres away from Srinagar.
The hilly terrain was an advantage for the stone-pelters.

Roop Singh, the driver of the vehicle lost his sight after a stone hit him in the head, followed by the truck running over the motorcycle in front in which the two CRPF jawans lost their lives. They were identified as Riyaz Ahmed Wani and Nissar Ahmed Wani.
Both the jawans were hurried to a hospital where they were declared brought dead. The truck turned turtle after the accident, causing minor injuries to the passengers.
Reinforcements were rushed to maintain law and order, an official said.
