West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday paid tribute to Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore on his 76th death anniversary.
She posted a picture of Tagore on her Facebook page with "Kabiguru Rabindranath Thakurer Prayan Dibase Sraddharghyo" written on it. It means ‘tribute to Kabiguru on his death anniversary’.
Tagore died in 1941 on 'Baishe Srabon' (The 22nd Srabon in the Bengali calendar). That’s the reason his death anniversary is popularly known as 'Baishe Srabon' and Bengalis across the globe observe the day.
