Manipur Elections 2017: Re-polling records 89 per cent turn out

The repoll in 34 polling stations in three districts in Manipur, where election was held in the first phase on March 4, on Thursday recorded an 89 per cent voting.
Manipur Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Kumar Dewangan said, “89 per cent polling was recorded at the end of the repoll in 34 polling stations.”
Dewangan said that a repoll would be held in a single booth on Friday in view of reports of malpractices there.
The Election Commission has also ordered a repoll on Friday in 27 polling stations spread across 22 Assembly constituencies where election was held in the second phase on March 8 following complaints of electoral malpractices.
