Former Trinamool Congress leader Mukul Roy on Friday joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at party headquarters in the national capital.
Senior leader Ravi Shankar Prasad welcomed Roy in the party in presence of other party leaders Kailash Vijayvargiya and Swapan Dasgupta.
“Happy to inform that Mukul Roy is joining BJP, we welcome him,†Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
While talking to reporters, Roy said it's his proud privilege to work under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Today I have Joined BJP and it's my proud privilege to work under PM Modi,†he said. Later, Roy met BJP national president Amit Shah, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and other leaders.Â
