One of conjoined twins, Kalia undergoes plastic surgery at AIIMS
Kalia And Jaga, The Two Craniopagus Twins Were Conjoined At The Head And Were Separated In A Miraculous Surgery That Took Around 16 Hours.
One of the conjoined twins, Kalia, underwent a plastic surgery at All-India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Saturday, where the doctors removed the unhealthy part of the skin flap of his skull.
The operation which lasted for around two hours was conducted in the presence of surgeons from Coimbatore.
The surgery was conducted by a team of doctors, including Dr. Maneesh Singhal (HOD of the plastics, reconstructive and burns surgery at AIIMS), Dr Rajeev Sharma (assistant professor of neurosurgery) and Dr. Deepak Kumar Gupta (professor of neurosurgery).

Kalia continues to be on the ventilator after undergoing a debridement process. This was followed by skin grafting where the unhealthy skin was replaced by the skin which was obtained from AIIMS' skin bank.
His twin brother Jaga was taken off the machine earlier and is recovering well, as per the doctors.
Kalia and Jaga, the two craniopagus twins were conjoined at the head and were separated in a miraculous surgery that took around 16 hours. A team of 30 doctors conducted the marathon surgery at AIIMS on October 26.
As a matter of fact, two similar surgeries to separate twins joined at the head were conducted in India but they were unsuccessful.
