Congress in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday took out candle light marches in Jammu, alleging that the Narendra Modi government “hoodwinked” ex-servicemen and was spreading misinformation over the One Rank, One Pension scheme.Party’s vice-president Sham Lal Sharma, who led a protest in Akhnoor, said the ex-servicemen launched a masive protest forcing the central government to implement the OROP scheme. However, the scheme was not implemented in toto.
The armed forces’ veterans are still agitating and seeking parity in pension, which clearly indicates that the Modi government is misleading the nation over the issue, he alleged.A similar protest was held at Khour and led by former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand.
