The Pakistan government on Friday decided to arrange a meeting of Kulbhushan Jadhav with his wife on humanitarian grounds.
India has been asking Pakistan authorities to arrange visa for Kulbhsuhan Jadhav’s family for a long time.
Earlier, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had written a letter to her Pakistani counterpart Sartaj Aziz for grant of visa to Jadhav’s mother, Avantika.
A military court in Pakistan has awarded death penalty to Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav on the suspicions of spying. However, India have rubbished al the accusations of Pakistan and moved to International Court of Justice against Jadhav’s death penalty.
The ICJ had on May 18 restrained Pakistan from executing the death sentence.
While Pakistan claims that its security forces arrested Jadhav from its restive Balochistan province on March 3, 2016 after he reportedly entered from Iran, India maintains that he was abducted from Iran where he had legitimate business interests.
