Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, former All India Football Federation President and leader of the Congress party, passes away at the age of 72 on Monday. He was in coma since 2008.
The news was confirmed by West Bengal Congress chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.
He was the first Indian to be a match commissioner in a FIFA World Cup game when he performed the role in a group stage game between Australia and Croatia in the 2006 World Cup in 2006.#
He is survived by his wife Deepa Dasmunsi and son Priyadeep Dasmuni.
