Indian Army on Tuesday informed that punitive fire assaults are being undertaken across the line of control to curb infiltration. The army has released a video footage to substantiate its action carried out on Pakistan Army posts along the LoC in Kashmir. The aim of carrying out fire assault was to curb Pakistan Army's attempt of facilitating intruders to sneak in across the Line of Control and cause insurgency in the Kashmir Valley. The army has been actively engaged in counter-insurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army used 105 mm Recoilless Guns & 105 mm Light Field Guns in direct firing role to destroy Pakistani posts on LoC.
Briefing the media on Tuesday, Major General Narula (ADG - PI) emphasised that the Indian Army wants to restore peace and normalcy in Jammu and Kashmir. Maj Gen Narula made it very clear that Pakistan Army has been providing support to armed infiltrators.
He added that the Indian Army had carried out actions in Naushera that caused damage to Pakistan army posts. The Army carried out Operations on 21st and 22nd May in Naugam sector where 4 terrorists were neutralised. These actions are part of an overall strategy to counter terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Indian Army's operations to bust Pakistani posts along the LoC have been hailed by all parties across the political spectrum of the country.
The Congress party spokesperson RS Surjewala lauded the efforts of the Army by stating - The Salute the valor and courage of Indian Army for destroying Pak posts which were abetting infiltrators from Pakistan.
Shiv Sena's Arvind Sawant hailed Indian Army's retaliatory action by tweeting, Der aye durust aye,ab nahi rukna hai.Ab socho Lahore jakar Tiranga lehrana hai.
