The Mukesh Ambani-led company Reliance Jio has joined TED’s Climate Change Countdown initiative. The company on Friday announced that it has partnered with TED to counter climate change.
TED’s Climate Countdown Initiative is a global initiative that works on turning ideas into concrete action to provide solutions for climatic chnages. The goal is “to build a better future by cutting greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 in the race to a zero-carbon world – a world that is safer, cleaner and fairer for everyone.” The company said that Jio in association with TED is bringing together scientists, activists, entrepreneurs, urban planners, farmers, CEOs, investors, artists, government officials, and others together to find out the most effective ideas to provide solutions to climate challenges.

The company is supporting TED’s Climate Countdown initiative by providing digital platform which will help reach larger audiences. As TED app is available on JioStore, it would allow the initiative to reach over one million households in India. TED’s Climate Change Countdown initiative seeks to answer five fundamental, interconnected questions that help form a blueprint for a cleaner future. TED is also inviting every organisation, company, city and country to collaborate with Countdown and take action on the threat posed by climate change.
