A Pakistani woman will be given visa for undergoing a liver transplant surgery in India, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said on Sunday.
On her Twitter, Swaraj wrote, “We are giving Visa for the liver transplant surgery of Ms.Farzana Ijaz in India (sic).”
Earlier, a resident of Pakistan’s Faisalabad, M Mohsin requested the minister to issue a medical visa to his ailing aunt on Twitter.
“@SushmaSwaraj Madam my Aunt is (in a) very serious condition need liver transplant pls grant medical Visa. Humble request. Plss! (sic),” the Pakistani resident had tweeted.
Swaraj has been sympathetically considering the medical visa applications of scores of Pakistani nationals, notwithstanding the strains in ties between India and Pakistan over a host of issues, including cross-border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Swaraj on Saturday announced that India was giving medical visas to Pakistani nationals seeking treatment in the country.
