Allahabad's greatest attraction is the Sangam. Pollution in Ganga is one of the major issues in Allahabad in the wake of UP assembly polls. A lot of sewage chambers have been built in Allahabad to cleanse drain water before it goes into Ganga.
However, a lot of sewage treatment plants are broken and non-functional which in turn leads to dirty water flowing into Ganga.
Allahabad was once revered as the Oxford of the east since a long time. However, in the current age ecucation standards have gone downhill and waste is piled near government schools. The Municipal corporation is not upto the task and the people are highly disappointed in this regard.
Further, there are not enough teachers in primary schools and security issues are also major concerns here.
Students also claim that education standards have gone down in Allahabad university and even the infrastructure of the university is not upto the standard.
Traffic is a major concern is Allahabad and there are not enough parking facilities in the city. Despite being a vital religious city, the city's development and business have been adversely affected.
Phulpur constituency which gave India its first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru is also facing tough times. The constituency doesn't even have proper roads and hospitals. Further, the hospital lacks important facilities.
