As The Sun Started Coming Back After Two Days Of Rain In Kolkata, The Covers Were Removed At The Eden Gardens Where Second ODI Is Scheduled. The Green Tinge On The Pitch Is So Prominent That It Is Visible From The Upper Tier Of The Club House.
As the sun started coming back after two days of rain in Kolkata, the covers were removed at the Eden gardens where second ODI is scheduled. The green tinge on the pitch is so prominent that it is visible from the upper tier of the club house.
The Kangaroos who have already arrived for a pre-match practice session at the stadium, were visibly delighted with the nature of the pitch.
Skipper Steven Smith could not hold himself back in the press conference and said that the grass is probably more than what he has seen in India for a while.
“I will have another look tomorrow, see what the weather is doing, will see if there are any changes to the wicket. The curator might roll it a bit more or cut it,” said Smith to Indian Express.
As per reports, the grass will be kept intact for the second ODI. Smith would be fancying his chances in the match as the grass and moist weather will provide assistance to his pacers. In all likelihood, there the pitch will offer lateral movement which will be suitable for Australian pacers.
