They lost to arch-rivals Pakistan in the recently concluded Champions Trophy final and then off the field controversy regarding coach Anil Kumble's exit after rifts with captain Virat Kohli. However, Kohli and company will look to start afresh when they face off West Indies in the series opener One-day International at Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain in Trinidad.
After the humiliating defeat against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy Finals, coachless team India would like to gain its confidence back by winning the series opener against West Indies.
India have not made too many changes in the team that played in the Champions Trophy squad and only Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma have been rested. Kuldeep Yadav and the IPL sensation Rishabh Pant have been included in the squad.
