Ravichandran Ashwin Bagged His 25th Five-wicket Haul In An Innings In Test Cricket And Became The Fastest Bowler To Reach This Milestone.
Indian off-spinner R Ashwin cast a web around the Australian batsman on the Day 4 of the second Test in Bengaluru, picking up six wickets to script a sensational 75-run over Australia to level the four-match series 1-1.
Ashwin bagged his 25th five-wicket haul in an innings in Test cricket and became the fastest bowler to reach this milestone.
Ashwin got to the milestone in 88 Test innings, breaking Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan's record who took 100 innings as a bowler to clinch 25 five-wicket hauls. Richard Hadlee is third on the list. The Kiwi all-rounder took 111 Tests innings to achieve this feat.
Ashwin also went past Bishen Singh Bedi's record of 266 Test wickets in the match. Ashwin has a staggering 269 in just 47 Test matches.
