Stump mic reveals how MS Dhoni continues to lead team India
Doni, Who Played A Vital 79-run Innings In Team India’s Easy Win Against Visitors, Was Heard On Mic Guiding And Advising Spinners Yuzvendra Chahal And Kuldeep Yadav.
MS Dhoni might have given up the captaincy of team India in limited overs format but he still continues to lead the boys on field. And a stump mic recordings from Sunday’s India vs Australia ODI proves that.
Doni, who played a vital 79-run innings in team India’s easy win against visitors, was heard on mic guiding and advising spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.
“Woh maarne wala daal na, andar yaa baahar koi bhi (Why don’t you bowl the one which would entice the batsman to hit, spinning in or away, anything?),” Dhoni shouted from behind the wickets when chinaman Kuldeep was bowling.
Apart from Kuldeep, Dhoni also kept advising Chahal and asked him to bowl the one that turns, “Ghumne waala daal, ghumne waala.”

When Glenn Maxwell hit Kuldeep for three consecutive boundaries and he was struggling to bowl against the Australian all-rounder , Dhoni not Kohli came to his rescue.
“Stump pe mat dal (don’t bowl on the stumps). Arey baahar daal, isko itna aage nahi (Bowl wide outside off-stump and not so full)”, shouted Dhoni from behind the wickets.
Kuldeep, who took 2 important wickets, also accepted during the post-match show that Dhoni was helping him from behind the wickets.
MS Dhoni stepped down as team India’s captain for limited overs cricket in January this year paving a way for Virat Kohli, who took the job soon after his resignation.
