Kuldeep Yadav once again proved to be sensational for Indian skipper Virat Kohli and bowled with variations in the first ODI at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad and helped the hosts to restrict the Aussies for a below-par total. Kuldeep finished his spell with 2 for 46 in the series opener and the wicket that stood out was his dismissal of Peter Handscomb. He delivered an absolute beauty to outfox the batsman and the rest was down by MS Dhoni.Â
It was in the final delivery of the 30th over. Kuldeep tossed the ball to Peter Handscomb and Handscomb tried to take the ariael route as he tried to go down the track. But the ball turned through the gap between the bat and the pad and the rest was done by Dhoni. Handscomb could only stop, turn back and watch as Dhoni dislodged the bails. The Aussie batsman walked back for 19 runs after facing 30 balls.

Meanwhile, Australia started the innings on a quiet note, losing skipper Aaron Finch early in the innings. However, Marcus Stoinis along with Usman Khawaja registered an 87-run partnership to get things back on track. But once Marcus departed, the road became tougher for Australia. Glenn Maxwell did play a cameo but wasn't enough. With this, at the end of 50 overs, Australia finish at 236/7. India needs 237 runs to go one up in the five-match ODI series. With the likes, of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli involved in the setup, the target shouldn't haunt India at all.
