FIFA World Cup 2018: Google Doodle celebrates footballing extravaganza
The whole of Russia and the world witnessed a stunning opening ceremony and a goal friendly opener when Russia destroyed Saudi Arabia’s team with five goals at the Luzhniki stadium in Moscow.
To celebrate the footballing extravaganza Google has decided to celebrate rich cultures and talent of all 32 nations participating in FIFA’s showpiece event.
On the Day 2 of FIFA World Cup 2018, Google doodle features special art from six countries that will be starting their campaign for glory.
Egypt will be against Uruguay at 5:30 pm (IST), followed by Morocco vs Iran at 8:30 pm, and the match of the day Portugal vs Spain is scheduled at 11:30 pm.
“This year's Doodle series celebrates the rich cultures and talent of all 32 participating countries by featuring guest artists hailing from each nation,” Google said in a blog post on Thursday.
The search engine king has decided to release doodles every day until the World Cup final on July 15.
The artists worked on the theme “What does football mean in your country?”
“It is the soul of the people in Egypt!” said Shennawy, whose doodle features a group of boys playing football on a busy street.
Rashin Kheiriyeh has beautifully crafted Persian art with Iran's football craze in his doodle, Moroccan lions indulge in a game in Annasi Mehdi's work.
Friday's featured artists also include Portugal's Tiago Galo, Spain's Andres Lozano, and Uruguay's Macarena Campos.
