Dhoni is nicknamed Thala, which means supreme head in Tamil and his fan following continues to grow with every passing day. Currently, he is the skipper of the Chennai Super Kings franchise, the three-time IPL champions and in every edition of the IPL, his cult and popularity has only increased.

With India only two wins away from winning the World Cup, India would be hoping that Dhoni repeats his 2011 heroics where his six sealed the game in the final against Sri Lanka and gave India glory after 28 years. Indian cricket fans would be hoping he repeats the feat on July 14 in Lord’s. Here is wishing Dhoni a very happy birthday. Rock on, Thala!
