Around 130 Motorsports Enthusiasts Are Participating In The Rally, Which Will Conclude In Jaipur On March 1 After Covering A Distance Of Over 2,300 Kms.
Maruti Suzuki’s motorsport rally, the 13th Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm, was flagged off from today.
Around 130 motorsports enthusiasts are participating in the rally, which will conclude in Jaipur on March 1 after covering a distance of over 2,300 kms.
“Maruti Suzuki is a frontrunner in Indian motorsports arena. To challenge India’s finest drivers we have set a thrilling and competitive route to conquer Rajasthan’s terrain,” Maruti Suzuki Vice President Marketing Manohar Bhatt said.
The rally has various formats, XTreme, NDure, XPlore and Moto Quad, suited for amateurs and professionals, he added.
When asked about the reasons for the company to be associated with motorsports events, Maruti Suzuki India Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) R S Kalsi said: “We are leader in car manufacturing so it’s natural for us to be associated with motorsports in the country.”
Such events help the company to connect with the youth and also provide the opportunity to calibrate on the performance of the vehicles, he added.
“This is the 13th edition of the rally and our vehicles have performed superbly over the years,” Kalsi said.
It helps in giving a message to the customers that Maruti vehicles are capable of handling the toughest terrains, he added.
Besides, Desert Storm rally, the country’s largest carmaker is also associated with motorsports events like Raid-De-Himalaya and Dakshin Dare.
