HISTORY CREATED: Aruna Budda Reddy wins first medal for India in Gymnastics World Cup; clinches bronze medal
She Scored An Average Of 13.349 In Two Attempts In The Women’s Vault Event.
Aruna Budda Reddy created history as she secured a Bronze medal and became the first Indian to win a medal at the ongoing Gymnastics World Cup in Melbourne.
She scored an average of 13.349 in two attempts in the Women’s Vault event. Slovenia’s Tjasa Kysslef clinched Gold medal by scoring 13.800 and Australia’s Emily Whitehead won Silver with a score of 13.699.
Another Indian Gymnast Pranati Nayak finished at 6th spot with an average score of 13.416.
The first Indian women who created the road map for the gymnast at the world level was Dipa Karmakar when she qualified for the Olympics in 2016.
She finished at the 4th spot, nearly missing the Bronze medal.
Currently, the 2018 Gymnastics World Cup is being held in Melbourne in which atheletes from 16 countries participated in the event. The finals are being held on February 24 and 25.
