Former Asian Games gold medal-winning boxer Dingko Singh is being treated for Hepatitis at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
“Dingko was suffering from jaundice last month and is now in Delhi to be treated for Hepatitis,” a source close to the 37-year-old, who won the 1998 Asian Games’ bantamweight gold medal told PTI.
The Padmashree and Arjuna awardee has been battling health issues for a while. He is currently employed as a coach with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) at its centre in Manipur.
Considered an iconic name in Indian boxing, Dingko had also won the gold medal and the best boxer trophy at 1997 King’s Cup.
