Rio Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu didn't break too much sweat as she defeated fellow Indian compatriot Anuradha Pantawane in straight games to sail into the second round of the BWF Indian Open.
The tall and lanky shuttler was in all conquering mode against right from the beginning of the match. Pantawane known more for her doubles game gave Sindhu a tough competition in the opening game but Sindhu overpowered her in the second set to seal the match and book her place in the second round.
Earlier on Wednesday, Indian ace shuttler Saina Nehwal made a winning start at the India Open on Wednesday, beating Chinese Taipei's Chia Hsin Lee 21-10, 21-17. The encounter lasted 35 minutes.Sania dominated her Chinese opponent right from the start, not letting Chia Hsin get a hold of the match. The Chinese shuttler gave a tough fight in the second game but Nehwal used all her experience and skill to close the match in straight sets.
